GetDataBack Pro is software that helps you recover lost files from your PC’s hard drive(s) or from your storage devices such as USB memory sticks, SD cards, and more. It is compatible with Windows, Mac and Linux OS. It allows you to recover text files, images, programs, and audio and video files.
The program itself can be confusing since its interface is not intuitive. When using it for the first time, you will need to consult the Help file, which is rather comprehensive, or take the time to explore it and get to know how to recover your files.
When I tested the program, the scanning process was very slow; also, another drawback is that you need to know which specific file you are searching, since the search process is not easy at all, and thus, can be very time-consuming.
The free version allows you to scan your drive, search and visualize the recoverable files, you cannot restore them; you need to purchase a license. The advantage is that it is a one-time payment, so you don’t need to renew or pay for the updates.
Thus, if you are looking to recover your files efficiently, you can purchase the paid-based version, since the free one does not allow you to do so.
